NIFT
NIFT is pioneering thought leadership in design through a network of 16 professionally managed campuses. The Campus at New Delhi was established in 1986 in collaboration with FIT, New York. The Campuses at Chennai, Gandhinagar, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai were set up in 1995 and that of Bengaluru in 1997. The new millennium witnessed emergence of new campuses in Bhopal, Bhubneshwar, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Patna, Raebareli and Shillong. The Campus at Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir is the newly added node to NIFT's network.

The National Institute of Design (NID) is internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education and research. The Business Week, USA has listed NID as one of the top 25 European & Asian programmes in the world. The institute functions as an autonomous body under the department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. NID has been declared ‘Institution of National Importance’ by the Act of Parliament, by virtue of the National Institute of Design Act 2014.

IIT
There were just four IITs taking part in the UCEED until 2021. To grant admission to the B.Des degree, IIT Delhi did, however, participate in the UCEED exam last year. IITs are affiliated with a number of result-sharing institutes. Based on UCEED results, these institutes will admit students to their undergraduate design program in 2024. Every year, the number of institutes that share results varies. As per the latest report released by the Industrial Design Centre, 19 colleges/universities will share UCEED results in 2024. (IDC).
