Overview

Symbiosis International University is a multi-disciplinary university located in India, specializing in multiple fields since 1971 . Established by Prof. Dr. S.B. Exam Structure

The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) is a national-level design aptitude test that is conducted once a year by Symbiosis International University. The exam is home-proctored and consists of multiple-choice questions that cover topics such as art, craft, culture, design, and environment.

Eligibility

Candidates must possess a 10+2 or equivalent diploma or a State Board of Technical Education-approved 10+3 diploma.

Candidates who are taking the 10+2 grade final exam or the 10+3 diploma final exam may also apply as long as their results are released by June of the admission year.

Selection Process

  • Level 1: Online Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED). The result of SEED will be put up on the SID website as per the schedule. If a candidate qualifies SEED, he/she would be eligible to appear for SID’s Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI). Shortlisting for admission will be based only by specialization selected during online registration.

  • Level 2: Upload the Portfolio on the portal a day prior to the PRPI. For portfolio specifications 

  • Level 3: Perform the PRPI Task. This will be shared 3 days prior to the chosen date of online PRPI. Upload the PRPI Task on the portal a day prior to the PRPI.

  • Level 4: Appear for the online Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI)

Important Notes

  • The official notification and brochure for the NID DAT 2025 exam will be released by the National Institute of Design (NID) around October-November 2024.

  • The application process typically starts in November and closes in December.

  • The DAT Prelims exam is usually conducted in January or February.

  • The DAT Mains exam is conducted in March or April.
