JEE (B.Arch)

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is an entrance exam conducted for admission to undergraduate architecture programs (B.Arch) in India. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Exam Pattern

The JEE Main B.Arch exam is divided into three sections: Mathematics (30 questions), Aptitude (50 questions), and Drawing (2 questions). The total marks for the exam are 400.

  • Mathematics (30 questions, 100 marks): This section includes questions on Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Vector Algebra. There is an increase in Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions in the Mathematics section for JEE Main 2024. You will be provided with a choice to answer any five questions from this section.

  • Aptitude (50 questions, 100 marks): This section tests your analytical and logical reasoning skills, comprehension, basic physics and chemistry, and visual perception.

  • Drawing (2 questions, 200 marks): This section is conducted in offline mode and assesses your drawing and sketching skills. You will be given two questions to test your ability to draw using pencils.

Eligibility

  • You must have passed the class 12 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects.

  • There is no minimum marks requirement, but securing a good rank in JEE Main is crucial for getting admission into top architecture colleges.

Marking Scheme

  • There is negative marking for the Mathematics and Aptitude sections. For every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.

  • There is no negative marking for the Drawing section.

Important To Know

  • The application process for JEE Main 2024 is usually held in the last week of March. The exam is typically conducted in April and May. You can find the exact dates on the NTA website.
